Disney has released 2027 Walt Disney World vacation packages, resort reservations & park tickets, including some of the on-site guest perks add-ons available next year. This post offers dates and details about hotels, tickets, and more. Plus, commentary on all of the changes, booking next year’s packages, and more.
In addition to the details of 2027 Walt Disney World vacation packages, the company has reiterated reasons for staying on-site. The rundown of reasons to stay on-site revolves around transportation, with these and other perks making Walt Disney World vacations easier:
Complimentary theme park transportation via monorail, boat, bus, and Skyliner
Free standard parking at hotels, theme parks, and water parks
Early access to dining reservations and Lightning Lane for your entire stay, as well as advanced access to purchase tickets to select special events.
All of these are valid points, and one of the reasons (along with more competitive pricing) why we seldom stay off-site anymore. That also covers the upside of staying on-site at Universal Orlando, or doing a split stay between the two.
Let’s start with what we know about 2027 Walt Disney World vacation packages and room reservations, which honestly, isn’t a ton! Bookings are now available for theme park tickets, resort hotel stays, and packages as of April 16, 2026.
Available travel dates at this time are limited to January through October 31, 2027. Please note that bookings for November and December 2027 will become available at a later date. This is consistent with the last few years, so no major surprise there.
Normal terms and conditions for final payments, cancellations, and change fees will apply for all 2027 Walt Disney World vacation package bookings. Essentially, all of the standard rules apply.
With that out of the way, let’s start by covering what’s newly-confirmed for 2027 vacations at Walt Disney World…
Walt Disney World officially announced that Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours will both continue through 2027. It’s our expectation that these are offerings are the permanent replacement for Extra Magic Hours.

Additionally, we have about a dozen or so “Extra Hours” Photo Reports, with more coming soon for Disney’s Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom–all of which have changed at least slightly in the last year. We have 4 more Early Entry reports coming soon from Spring Break 2026, including from 9/10 and 10/10 crowd days (a rarity for us!).
The big announcement by Walt Disney World for 2027 is the return of the Deluxe Disney Dining Plan! The company is also renaming each tier of the DDP to reduce consumer confusion.
Starting with arrivals in 2027, guests can choose from 3 Disney Dining Plans: the Quick-Service Dining Plan, the Table-Service Dining Plan or the Deluxe Table-Service Dining Plan. Here’s how that looks in 2026 vs. 2027:

In terms of official announcements for Walt Disney World’s 2027 product launch, that’s about it. Honestly, we’re still expecting more updates to drop at any point now. There’s normally a full press release to accompany the product launch, and there hasn’t been one yet for 2027. Check back for more (potential) updates.
Now let’s turn to the wildcards that were not mentioned in the 2027 Walt Disney World product release announcement, some of which are conspicuous omissions…
First up, and this should come as zero surprise to anyone who is paying attention, but Walt Disney World is not bringing back free FastPass. Given how well Lightning Lanes continue to sell, it’s safe to assume pay-to-play line-skipping is here to stay for at least 2027.
Probably beyond that, given new attractions and lands will start coming online in 2028-2030, so if there wasn’t reason to bring back free FastPass in 2027, there certainly won’t be after that. Who knows, though.
Walt Disney World is getting more aggressive at pulling “levers” to entice guests to stay on-site, and at some point, there’s going to be internal conversation about bringing back free FastPass if nothing else works. For this to happen, it would pretty much require the economic environment to worsen.
It’s already probably the case that many guests are now simply reallocating spending away from table service meals, souvenirs, and other discretionary purchasing to Lightning Lanes, so it’s not as if that’s purely a “free” revenue stream.
Another piece of non-news is that Walt Disney World mentioned nothing about airport transportation. We were hoping to hear more about Airport Luggage Transfer, and an expansion of this for 2026 followed by a full deployment by 2027.
This pilot program has now rolled out to all Value Resorts and Southwest Airlines, and we’re hoping that Moderates and Deluxes, as well as additional airlines, will follow later this year. The intention is to scale up Airport Luggage Transfer and bring it back for everyone.
It’s just taking time to get off the ground, and there haven’t been any updates on it since last November. (For whatever it’s worth, I stayed at Pop Century last week and the service seemed quite popular with guests. It was also advertised with signage around the resort and a voicemail on my in-room phone, so it’s not as if Disney is quietly killing this off.)
Once Airport Luggage Transfer fully launches, it also arguably lays the groundwork for the return of Disney’s Magical Express. That’s not idle speculation or wishful thinking–read Will Disney’s Magical Express Airport Shuttle Ever Return? for an explanation of why Orlando International Airport actually wants DME back, and is willing to subsidize the cost.
Continuing with the non-news, Walt Disney World did NOT confirm an extension of free admission to one of the water parks, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, on check-in day.
This is available from May 26 to September 8, 2026 for room-only reservations, vacation packages and Disney Vacation Club stays on points will all be eligible–but all guests must be on the reservation. It was previously available for all of last year; it’s unclear whether the perk will return for 2027.
One possibility is that Walt Disney World is in ‘wait and see’ mode to see how the free water park day goes in Summer 2026 before bringing it back for 2027. The water parks were absolutely slammed last summer, and the worst of that started after Walt Disney World announced the perk returning for this summer. Perhaps they regret the decision and aren’t bringing it back in 2027. Or maybe they want to stagger the positive news and will reveal this perk later.
Also unconfirmed is whether the Free Dining Plan for Kids All Year Long at Walt Disney World is returning for 2027. Based on the below changes to the Disney Dining Plan page, it seems to be implied that this perk/promo is not coming back next year. Take a look at the official language and judge for yourself:
Savings for Families in 2026
If you’re traveling in 2026, get a free dining plan for kids (ages 3 to 9) when you purchase a package that includes a room with the Disney Resorts Collection and a dining plan for each Guest ages 10+.
The number of packages available for this offer is limited. Everyone in the same room must be on the same package. Advance reservations are required. Dining plan must be purchased for all Guests in the travel party ages 10 and up, for the entire length of stay. Children must be ages 3 to 9 at time of travel and must order from the children’s menu, where available. Some table-service restaurants may have limited or no availability at time of package purchase. Dining plans exclude gratuities.
Savings for Families in 2027
If you’re traveling in 2027, save up to 20% on dining for kids (ages 3 to 9) when you purchase a package that includes a dining plan for your family.
Savings compared to the nondiscounted price of menu items available to kids ages 3 to 9 at participating locations when purchased without a dining plan. Actual savings vary based on menu items ordered.
That’s pretty much it in terms of what’s been announced by Walt Disney World for 2027 and what’s conspicuously missing. Now more about whether you should book a package or room reservation ASAP…
With all of that in mind, you might be wondering whether you should book a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation package ASAP. Is that really necessary given how aggressive Disney has gotten with pulling “levers” to entice demand? Is it better to wait for the full slate of discounts to come out?
Unless you want a very limited room category or specialty suite (e.g. Nantucket or Steeplechase Suite), it’s definitely not necessary to fight the rush and call or book right away. No regular room categories are going to sell out–not even for popular dates–the first few days that reservations are available for 2027.
With that said, our general perspective is that the best practice is booking early (by “early” we mean the next couple of months, not today). Even though Walt Disney World is seeing a slowdown in demand and nothing new is on the horizon until late 2027 when Tropical Americas opens, that slowdown is uneven.
Rooms for this summer are still available in abundance, but the same typically is not true between Fall Break and Easter (mid-October 2026 through early April 2027). If you’re planning a trip during that half of the year, we’d recommend booking earlier as opposed to later.
It’s our understanding that January through mid-March was one of Walt Disney World’s highest occupancy stretches in a long time. Along with that, there are certain dates–Fall Break, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc–that have become very competitive, with resort reservations selling out over time (not immediately).
It’s all upside to booking early. Buying Walt Disney World vacation packages when they go on sale is a way to lock-in current ticket and component pricing as a safeguard against the inevitable price increases. That’s especially true if there’s a certain hotel or room type that’s a must-have for your trip.
Not only that, but you can apply discounts retroactively to reservations. Meaning that if (when) a 30-40% off resort room-only discount is released this fall for travel dates from January through April 2027, you can modify your reservation and have the deal applied to the booking. You just have to pay attention to special offers as they’re released and snag that when it becomes available.
It’s always a good idea to use a travel agent. That’s especially valuable if you’re booking a 2027 Walt Disney World vacation package ASAP, as special offers likely won’t be available for Winter and Spring 2027 travel dates until late September or October of this year.
Using an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is the win-win option if you’re overwhelmed by the complexities of Walt Disney World, don’t want to do all of the “homework” yourself, or want someone to monitor your reservation so you save money.
We wouldn’t read anything into what hasn’t been announced yet. Walt Disney World’s 2027 vacation package release is once again occurring early by historical standards (earlier than last year by a week!), as if Walt Disney World’s reservations center wanted to drum up business and start accepting new bookings. Suffice to say, there’s probably a lot that is not yet set in stone for 2027.
Some significant changes will require careful consideration and deliberation by various teams of people. It’s possible that has not happened yet, or there isn’t consensus on timelines or specifics. In any case, there’s a degree to which the release of 2027 Walt Disney World vacation packages are a forward-looking sneak peek of the year to come, and a degree to which they’re a snapshot in time.
