The next generation of Star Wars stars debuted this morning on Star Tours – The Adventures Continue at Disneyland.
As part of the Anaheim park’s “Season of the Force” event, Disney premiered its latest iteration of its Star Wars motion theater ride, featuring appearances by Din Djarin (aka The Mandalorian), Grogu, Cassian Andor, and Ahsoka Tano. Riders will get one of two randomly selected transmissions in the middle of their trip on Star Tours – one featuring Din Djarin and Grogu (as well as a rather nervous space frog that’s trying not to be Grogu’s lunch) or another featuring the emerging rebel leader Andor. After that, it’s off to an encounter with the Purrgil (aka the space whales) above the planet Seatos, during which our Star Tours craft must join a battle to help save Ahsoka.

New Star Wars charactersAcross the park in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, Ahsoka Tano’s padawan, Sabine Wren, is making her Disneyland debut during Season of the Force.

Season of the Force also welcomes back the Hyperspace Mountain overlay of Space Mountain, a “Fire of the Rising Moons” special fireworks viewing in Galaxy’s Edge, as well as new Star Wars-inspired food, drinks and merchandise in Tomorrowland and Galaxy’s Edge.Eating our way around the galaxyWe tried two of the new food selections, found at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo: Dewback Chili Noodles [$17.99], with gingered ground pork, and Fried Chicken Baos [$14.99], with slaw and spicy Katsu sauce.
Dewback Chili Noodles, left, and Fried Chicken BaosI preferred the noodles and Laurie the baos (which are dark meat, by the way), though neither inspired us enough to recommend them over our favorite restaurants at Disneyland, such a Plaza Inn, Tiana’s or Cafe Orleans. Our favorite items in Galaxy’s Edge remain the Ronto Wrap, here in its excellent breakfast form [$13.49], and the Cold Brew Black Caf [$6.79], topped with sweet cream and cocoa-flavored cereal puffs.
Ronto Morning Wrap and Cold Brew Black CafAnd as much as it’s nice to visit with new characters for the event, our favorite thing Star Wars remains our favorite theme park attraction anywhere – Star Wars Rise of the Resistance.
