Hold onto your safari hats, folks! Whilst we know already that Disney officially confirmed that DinoLand U.S.A. at Animal Kingdom will be going the way of the dinosaurs, making room for the all-new ‘Tropical Americas’ land.
They’ve recently confirmed a bit of a closing timeline for the remaining parts of the land that are open.
Phased Closures Ahead
The asteroid began to impact the land back on January 12, 2025, with the closure of TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures.

Disney seemed to allude that other parts of the land would be open for a while yet but we finally have confirmation that DINOSAUR is going to remain open for the entirety of 2025. Disney were a bit loose with their timeframe onThe Boneyard, Restaurantosaurus, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Trilo-Bites but we know they’ll at least remain operational until later in 2025.
New Adventures on the Horizon
The ‘Tropical Americas’ land is set to transport guests to a vibrant new world, featuring attractions based on the magical Madrigal family from Encanto and thrilling Indiana Jones adventures. This reimagined area aims to infuse fresh energy and experiences into the park, offering guests new stories and environments to explore.

Timeline for Transformation
The complete transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into ‘Tropical Americas’ is slated for completion by 2027 (we’ll believe it when we see it).
So, if you’re a fan of prehistoric fun, now’s the time to visit DinoLand U.S.A. before it becomes a part of Disney history.
