Epic Universe is now open! The newest and largest theme park at Universal Orlando Resort. It is the fourth park at the resort, joining Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Volcano Bay (a water park). Epic Universe features multiple immersive lands connected by a central hub.

Epic Universe Overview, Map
What is on Universal Studio’s New Expansion Property?
Epic Universe (within the new “Southern Campus“) is approximately 3.5 miles from the northern Universal Resort, or a 10-15 minute drive. The theme park has its own parking lot, or a bus can be taken from the “Northern Campus” (CityWalk, Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios Florida). While it is possible to walk from the current “Universal” to Epic Universe, it would take multiple hours.
Epic Universe’s plot of land also houses three hotels:
Universal Helios Grand Hotel will be inside the park, providing direct access. A bus can be taken to the Northern Property.
Universal Stella Nova Resort, located outside the park, a 0.5 mile walk to the main entrance of Epic Universe. A Bus can be taken to the Northern Property.
Universal Terra Luna Resort, located outside the park, approximately 1.0 mile walk to the main entrance of Epic Universe. A Bus can be taken to the Northern Property.
These are the only Universal-owned hotels within a reasonable walking distance to the new theme park.
What is the storyline and theme of “Epic Universe?”
The storyline of Epic Universe is centered around the park’s hub, Celestial Park, which acts as a gateway to different dimensions, each with its own unique theme and immersive storytelling. Visitors embark through portals that lead to separate, self-contained worlds.
The Chronos device is seen at the entrance to “Epic,” this is the giant machine used to harness the energy of the Universe that powers all of Celestial Park. This immense cosmic mechanism aligns the Stars so that these portals open, allowing access to these other worlds. As guests step through the Emerald Gate and Chronos, they feel an ever-evolving universe—one shaped by the countless artists, musicians, explorers, and dreamers who have passed through for centuries, each leaving a trace of their own story behind.
What is Inside Epic Universe?
Epic Universe is an entirely new amusement park. Unlike past additions to the Universal Studios’ Resort (which may encompass just one new “land” or attraction within the current parks), Epic Universe is an entirely new theme park. The park is divided into 5 themed areas:
Celestial Park – The park’s central hub with lush gardens, fountains, and celestial-themed aesthetics. It features attractions, restaurants, and shops, most notably the “Stardust Racers,” Epic’s most extreme roller coasters.
Super Nintendo World – Based on Nintendo franchises like Super Mario and Donkey Kong.
Dark Universe – A land themed around Universal Monsters, featuring “Monsters Unchained,” a dark ride set inside Frankenstein’s Manor.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic – Inspired by Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts. The Parisian Wizarding World and the British Ministry of Magic.
How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk – A family-friendly area based on How to Train Your Dragon, featuring Viking-style attractions, a show, and a roller coaster.
How Many Days Do I Need at Epic Universe and the Universal Orlando Resort?
The Universal Orlando Resort is now advertising itself as a week-long destination. If you’ve never been to the property but want to enjoy everything the resort has to offer, a week is a great time frame. If you’re familiar with the resort and are only interested in the new Epic Universe theme park, I recommend two days if you want to experience everything inside the theme park.
With two days at Epic Universe, you’ll have time to ride each ride at least once, both shows, and also enjoy some of the food and drink offerings throughout the park. Experiencing all the rides of Epic Universe in one day is possible with the correct strategy and touring plan, but it isn’t something that can be easily accomplished if you really like to see all the details that have gone into this amazing project.
