Especially during Early Entry, it’s common to see several people hurrying into an already formed line to join their fastest family member holding a great spot for the whole group. It’s normal to hear grumbles and sometimes they come from us, but we let the newcomers “cut” in front of us anyway. We aren’t the queue police, but since we do spend an awful lot of time in line, we can confirm this practice has gotten worse over the years. It seems like Disney has noticed, too, because they’ve started to enforce the rules more consistently.
When we were testing in Hollywood Studios a few days ago, our rope drop goal was for Slinky Dog Dash. Our tester was scurrying over to Toy Story Land along with lots of other guests. When it was time to enter the queue, Cast Members were insisting that the entire party enter together. That’s not uncommon. What is new is that a guest was advised to move to the side of the entrance until her party could join her. They did not make her go to the back of the line, but they also didn’t let her continue in the queue with the assumption that the rest of the party would join her.
There were similar announcements at Flight of Passage when we were testing Early Entry in Animal Kingdom, too.
