From savory entrées to decadent desserts, the food at this year’s Walt Disney World Service Celebration was more than a meal, it was a heartfelt thank you to the longtime Disney cast who make magic every day. Honorees indulged in all-you-care-to-enjoy cuisine found around every corner of Magic Kingdom Park prepared specially for them, making it truly a night to remember.

This year Walt Disney World Resort honored more than 6,500 magic makers who celebrated milestone anniversaries – ranging from 10 to 50 years of service. Bountiful buffets, action stations led by Disney chefs, signature drinks, and handcrafted desserts (including a customized cannoli cart!) were just some of the many delicacies that awaited the honorees.

And the talented team of Disney chefs behind these special creations begin planning for this event months in advance. “The Service Celebration is such a unique opportunity for our culinary teams to create an unforgettable experience for their fellow cast members,” said Chef Emily. “This event is our team’s busiest day of the year when our cast come together to ensure our honorees feel appreciated.”

On their way to enjoy live entertainment and special Disney character greetings, honorees and their invited guests feasted on Korean gochujang beef stir fry, sofrito-braised pork, marinated chicken thighs, braised beef, street corn, a royal charcuterie and baked mac and cheese – just to name a few.

Without a doubt, the most talked-about item on the menu each year is the legendary shrimp. With more than 5,500 pounds of jumbo shrimp served throughout the park, these crustaceans are a cast favorite year-after-year and are prominently featured at the base of every themed ice sculpture placed around the park.

“With six generations of cast members that have different tastes and cultural backgrounds, our culinary teams strive to outdo themselves each year,” said Chef James. “We increase flavor profiles and add unique items from various cultures, ensuring there’s something to please every palate.”

And what’s a party without dessert? After hopping on their favorite attractions with little to no wait times, cast indulged in an assortment of sweet treats like strawberry shortcakes, salted caramel brownies, sticky toffee pudding, and more.

In addition to the special menu, honorees found complimentary food and snacks throughout the night at popular Magic Kingdom Park dining locations that were open just for them – including hot dogs at Casey’s Corner and DOLE Whips at Aloha Isle!

An Extra Sweet Treat: Over 200 treasured magic makers who have dedicated 40 to 50 years of service were treated to an extra special three-course plated dinner. They celebrated milestones of 40 years at Be Our Guest Restaurant, 45 years at Cinderella’s Royal Table, and 50 years at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa! The custom menu featured butter-poached lobster, beef tenderloin, butternut squash bisque, plant-based quinoa-mushroom wellington, and an assortment of fresh desserts.

Congratulations to all the honorees on their incredible milestones and thank you for making happy happen every day at The Most Magical Place on Earth!
