We noted Disney was testing trains with weight simulators a few days ago and the opening day announcement must mean testing has gone well. Hooray!
In addition to new tracks for the whole mountain, the train cars have seen some changes, and Disney has lowered the height requirement!
The improvements made over the 15+ month closure has allowed Disney to change the height requirement to ride Big Thunder from 40 inches tall to 38 inches tall! This is excellent news for the folks with little ones coming for Cool Kid Summer. Side note, Big Thunder Mountain in Disneyland still requires guests to be 40 inches or taller to ride.
