In 1997, Six Flags Great America was working on plans to add a Mr. Freeze coaster, similar to the one’s at Six Flags St. Louis and Six Flags Over Texas, to their park for the 1998 season. However, after all three of Six Flags’ new for 1997 Premier Rides coasters failed to operate in their opening season, Six Flags cancelled plans for any new Mr. Freeze coasters in 1998. Today, we give you a history lesson on how Six Flags Great America lost out on one of the best roller coasters in the Six Flags chain.
