Disneyland Resort‘s Downtown Disney shopping area. In this post we’ll take a look at the location and review some of the food items that are currently available.
Parkside Market is located across from the Downtown Disney monorail station and Star Wars Trading Post. It’s home to Seoul Sister, a Korean rice bowl restaurant, GG’s Chicken Shop, which serves chicken sandwiches, Parkside Market Coffee, a walkup coffee window, and a lounge called Vista Parkside Market. The outside has a nice mid-century look to it. Seating is available inside, but there’s also some tables and chairs outside. The outsides seats are nice when a musical performance is happening on the neighboring stage.
GG’s Chicken Shop offers chicken sandwiches in one of three different flavors (original, ranch, or sweet chili), all for $16 each. There’s also a chicken caesar wrap and grilled chicken sandwich, also for $16 each. We tried the original fried chicken sandwich, which includes bread and butter pickles, cabbage, spicy mayo, hot honey, brioche bun.
As I mentioned, the sandwich by itself is $16, but I opted for the combo which included waffle fries and a oatmeal cream pie cookie for $24 total. The chicken sandwich was overall tasty, with tender chicken and a great kick from the spicy mayo and hot honey. However, the fries were a bit bland and soggy. The oatmeal cream pie cookie had a nice nostalgic taste to it. The sandwich was good, but overall I didn’t see the value in it’s high price tag.
Here’s Seoul Sister’s beef & egg signature bowl. It’s comprised of bulgogi beef, carrots, kale, egg, sesame oil, and spicy gochu Seoul sauce. The price is $19 with rice, or $22 with noodles. Other options include chicken, beef, pork belly, or tofu, all of which are just below $20.
I paid the extra $3 and got the noodles instead of rice. The bulgogi beef was flavorful and delicious. This was such a good noodle bowl. It’s an item I would have no problem ordering during future visits, but the high price makes it one of the most expensive quick service entrees in all of Disneyland Resort. You can get the full fried chicken dinner at Disneyland’s Plaza Inn for the same price.
Parkside Market Coffee offers regular coffee for $4 to $5, tea, and espresso drinks. There’s also a variety of cinnamon rolls for $9, and breakfast sandwiches for $14.
Overall Parkside Market has some great food, but with price tags that make it a bit hard to fully recommend. If you’re a Disneyland Magic Keyholder be sure to show your barcode to get a 10% discount when you order.
Will you be trying out Parkside Market? Have you already eaten there? Let us know in the comments.
