The ride shares similarities with “Guardians of the Galaxy” at EPCOT, they feature screen and lighting effects along an indoor track. This ride features a motorbike seat instead of a traditional car. An ADA-accessible vehicle is located on the back of select trains for riders requiring assistance or not fitting in the TRON vehicle because of size.

TRON was announced on September 11, 2022, at the D23 Expo. The TRON Lightcycle / Run attraction was scheduled to be opened by spring 2023, as part of “Disney 100 Years of Wonder.” In 2023, it was announced that the Magic Kingdom coaster would open on April 4, 2023. This is filmed during a preview of the event. The new ride is located behind Space Mountain in Orlando, Florida.
