Hold onto your wizard hats and plumber overalls, folks! Universal Orlando Resort is not just resting on its laurels with the upcoming opening of Epic Universe on May 22, 2025; they’re already hard at work crafting the next wave of attractions to keep us all coming back for more.
Karen Irwin, President and COO of Universal Orlando Resort, has made it clear—they’re not slowing down anytime soon. “We’re already planning for the next thing at Epic,” she confirmed, hinting that even before the gates open, the future of the park is already in motion.
According to Irwin, new attractions are in development across all of Universal Orlando’s parks, including Epic Universe. The park has dedicated expansion plots within each themed land, with room to potentially add entirely new worlds in the future.

Meanwhile, major changes are on the horizon for the existing parks, with Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit set to close this autumn for demolition and replacement—marking the start of what’s expected to be a wave of new projects at Universal Orlando.
But Wait, There’s More! Future Attractions in the Pipeline
Universal isn’t stopping there. They’re already laying the groundwork for future attractions across all their parks. Here’s what they’ve announced so far (but we know more is coming):
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift: Revving up for a 2026 debut, this new rollercoaster is set to replace the current Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction, which is closing on March 10, 2025 as part of the Tram Tour.
Universal Kids Resort in Texas: Scheduled to open in 2026, this family-friendly resort will feature six themed lands inspired by popular franchises like “Shrek,” “Trolls,” and “Jurassic World.”
Universal Horror Unleashed: Opening on August 14, 2025, the attraction will feature four spine-chilling haunted houses, each inspired by horror legends: The Exorcist: Believer, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, Universal Monsters, and Scarecrow: The Reaping, promising a terrifying mix of supernatural horrors, slasher thrills, and classic nightmare fuel.
Universal Studios UK: Although still not officially confirmed, we think we are mere weeks away from official announcement from Universal.

Ryan has been attending theme parks since as long as he can remember and his first proper memory comes from when he was just three years old sitting in Main Street USA drinking a Nesquik milkshake from a carton while the piano was being played outside Casey’s Corner.
