Painting has been in progress since early January and it’s full steam ahead now with multiple cranes in operation each day. We’ve been capturing pictures of the painting since January 9, 2026.
You can still see Christmas decorations up in the picture of the castle above. The pink was the first thing to change..
The moat has been drained for a while and the whole castle is a busy work zone, but Cinderella’s Royal Table and the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique are still operating as normal. The morning welcome show, Let the Magic Begin, still takes place each day but characters will not be part of the show until the work on the castle is complete. In the interim, you can find roaming characters around the castle path.
You can see the difference in the shades of blue from this spot on the Tomorrowland side of the Magic Kingdom.
The patterns on the front of the entrance tower really stand out in this blue! We can’t wait to see Happily Ever After when the painting is complete. You’ll be able to find video on our YouTube channel when it’s time!
One bit of fun that we get to show you sooner than the castle is a preview of Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin on Tuesday, March 24th! Buzz officially reopens April 8th, but we’ve been invited to check it out next week!
The shot above was taken today. The doors have been exposed but you can tell from the tape that the exterior isn’t yet complete.
We’ll post an interview with Len after the preview on the 24th to see what he thinks about the new hand held blasters, better targets, and enhanced game play!
