What’s Changed?

American Airlines and United Airlines join Southwest Airlines in this program as of today. Disney’s website says “additional airlines could be added soon” so we’ll continue to monitor for changes.
Registration used to be between 5 and 30 days prior to your trip, but is now available anytime from 30 days to one day (24 hours) prior to your departure flight. This is a huge change!

How to Enroll in Luggage Transfer

Register through Disney’s website or head to BagCheck’s registration form directly. You can also register over the phone by calling BagCheck at (407) 505-7443. You’ll need the following information for everyone in your party:

Qualifying Disney Resort reservation number and date of check-in
Last name on the resort reservation
Qualifying flight information including confirmation number and flight number

When your registration is complete, you should receive an email confirmation with the following info:

Your email will contain a link for you to track your luggage while it is being transferred from MCO to your resort and back. This same link will show you the total number of bags, names of each passenger, and other summary information. Give it a quick review to make sure everything is correct. You wouldn’t want your Hank Lonely merch to get lost.

The reminder above is taken from the confirmation email sent upon registration. Note the section that says “Your bags should arrive at your Disney World Resort hotel within 4 hours of your flight arrival.” Keep this in mind if you’re planning to head to a water park after you check-in.
If you’ve registered in time to get luggage tags in the mail, attach them to your bags and follow the standard baggage procedures at your departure airport.

Don’t panic if there isn’t enough time to get your luggage tags in the mail. You can still track your bags on BagCheck’s website.
Getting Your Bags
Once you’ve checked into your resort, you can visit or call Bell Services to have your bags delivered to your room. A tip for the Cast Member delivering your luggage is customary.

Heading Home
You do not need to pre-register to have your bags transferred to MCO when it’s time to go home.

Bring your bags and boarding pass to Luggage Assistance at your resort between 24 hours to 4 hours before your flight departure time. As a reminder, you must be departing on one of the qualifying airlines. Keep your arrival luggage tags on your bags to make the check-in process for the return transfer easier.
We’re testing luggage transfer with American Airlines soon, so check back for an update. We’ll share luggage tracking screenshots and let you know long it takes to get our bags.
Have you used this process with Southwest airlines in the recent past? How did it go? We’d love to hear about your experience.
